During my internship I feel like the biggest skill i developed was a sense of leadership. Every monday night my mentor trains a group of younger soccer girls and in those three weeks my mentor let me take some control over the groups training. This group of girls weren’t the best listeners and really knew how to annoy a person but that was a real learning experience for me. In my other jobs teaching kids, I don't necessarily have any issue with them listening to me because I’ve already developed a relationship with them where they trusted and respected me, and with this group of girl it was much harder to gain that respect and leadership because i only saw them once a week, but by the third week i feel like i really managed to get that leadership role with them mostly because i just didn't put up with they crap but still had to be patient with them.
An unexpected turn my internship took was the fact that I enjoyed the marketing and advertising side of everything more than the actual hands on training.
