"MY LIFE ON EARTH" Personal Philosophy Project
PROJECT REFLECTION
I collaborated with a classmate, Clara Wolf, to create a large scale collage. I was looking to answer the essential question of ‘what is the meaning of life?’ For every person the answer to this question may be very different, but Clara and I had a similar take.
Life does not contain this bigger meaning, there is no path some greater being has planned out for you. Your life is your life, and what to choose to do with it, is completely in your hands. You find your own meaning, you create your own path. Everything does not happen for a reason and everyone must take responsibility for their own actions. Basically, do whatever makes you happy, as long as it’s with good intentions. In the collage I used a variety of images a quotes that I felt represented some part of my philosophy. I also added symbols and objects that bring me happiness in life.
In the beginning of this project I had no developed philosophy on the meaning of life. I went about living day to day doing the things I had to do first, then making sure everyone cared about was okay, and after everything and everyone else was satisfied did I do things that brought me soul happiness and self improvement. Life was kinda just this thing I was given and I hadn’t really thought much about it. Not until my teacher was talking to me about my developing philosophy, and said something like, well what if going around hurting people is what brings someone meaning and happiness in their life? I realized that was not at all what I believed in and my philosophy needed some refinement. It the turned into, do whatever you want with good intentions. But then the aspect of what happens after we die came into play which is something I’m still unsure about. I’d like to believe in an afterlife and reincarnation but I’m not sure how realistic that is. Death is just a lot easier to accept when you believe there's still some sort of consciousness after. Life is this beautiful thing that most people spend in a state of unconsciousness. Wake up y’all, look around, stop and think. Is your soul truly in a continuous state of happiness even on your worst days? Because if its not, there’s a change that can and should be made. And while you’re at it, maybe try and save our world before its dead too.

PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT
Life is about not giving a hoot. It’s full of happiness and loss, destruction, building, laughing, crying, loving, and heartbreak but none of that matters or is even worth it if you’re not willing to live. And by live I mean do whatever you want with good intentions, and if you can make a change along the way, do it. We want to be out here living our best lives and being the best versions of ourselves. Achieving this is a matter of not giving a hoot, especially with the thoughts and gossips of other people. Its life. If you take everything too seriously it’ll bring you down. And we’re only about going up in this live. We want to bloom. So you go out there and you do you. You live a life you love, with the people you adore, doing things that fulfill your flowerchild soul.

“Eating is an Agricultural Act?” The Ethics of Food and Eating
PROJECT REFLECTION
Food is not a thing humanity normal thinks about. We have a general idea what everything is made of, we know what we like, and we know when our body is craving something. With all that in mind, we know the prices and how that correlates with quality and availability. The convenience of food is its own marketing. People are more likely to spend more money at McDonalds than a sit down restaurant because they know they can get more for their money and spent 1/4th of the time getting and eating the food despite the quality difference.
The combined study of food in humanities and chemistry gave me an in depth understanding of food. I was able to develop my food ethic with studies and experiments to back it up. I got an understanding of how specific ingredients affect the integrity and flavor of food. As well as the origin of food, the impact on the environment, and the health aspects.
Starting this project I already ate on the healthier side. Throughout the project I realized why I want to eat the way I eat and how it affects me and my environment.
MY FOOD ETHIC
Food is fuel. Without food your body and mind cannot function properly. So if food is the thing that powers you through life, it makes sense to eat things that make you feel good and still give you the nutrients you need.
My eating has turned into something that I focus on a lot more than someone normally would. It is very inline with my training. I create my own meal plans, I meal prep, I eat organic and natural and try to stay away fast and processed foods. I eat the stuff that powers my body in a healthy manner and focus on my macros in order to achieve my personal goals. .
I of course don’t eat the healthiest and everything i'm supposed to, but it's the thought that counts. For example, hamburgers aren’t usually on my meal plan but I’m not gonna turn down the chance to eat one. I also wish I didn’t eat meat, but I know that meat is the quickest and easiest way to give my body the fat, protein, and carbs it needs.
My food ethic is very much so based on what my body needs to make progress and live life, while enjoying the food I can.
